CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina track and field head coach
Jesse Norman today unveiled a six-meet outdoor schedule highlighted by two home meets including host duties of the 2021 Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
Dates and times are subject to change due to potential COVID-19 developments.
The Catamounts kick off the outdoor season March 19-20 at the Yellow Jacket Invitational and close out the month in nearby Swannanoa, N.C., at the Montreat Invitational on March 26-27.
WCU will be off the first weekend in April and plans to compete at the Gamecock Invitational hosted by South Carolina on April 10.
The Catamount Classic on April 16-17 will be the first home track & field meet contested on the recently resurfaced Catamount Athletic Complex track. On May 1-2, WCU will host the Southern Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the sixth time and first since the 2018 season. WCU is the four-time defending men's champion.
Qualifying student-athletes will compete in the NCAA East Preliminaries on May 27-29 in Jacksonville, Fla. The University of North Florida is the host school for the NCAA East Preliminaries.
