Johnson City, Tenn.- The Western Carolina women's soccer team took a 1-0 decision over East Tennnessee State Tuesday afternoon at the Liberty Bell Soccer Complex.

The Catamounts' Kelly Barker scored the eventual game-winner with 11:24 elapsed when she buried a cross from teammate Felicia Wilson that fell five yards in front of Buccaneer goalkeeper Heather Sanden.

Western Carolina held the Buccaneer offense in the first half, as ETSU only managed two shots against the Catamount defense. The Bucs had chances in the second half but could not convert on the offensive end.

Western Carolina goalkeeper Mandi Tinsley stopped three shots for the Catamounts, while ETSU's Sanden recorded 11 saves.

Western Carolina improves to 8-6-1 overall, 2-4 in the Southern Conference. ETSU drops to 6-7 overall, 0-5 in the Southern Conference.

The Lady Cats will travel to Chattanooga Sunday, October 15 for a 7:00 p.m. start. They will then take a break from league play when they travel to Tennessee State Wednesday, October 18 at 4:00 p.m.
