Athletics Inclusive Excellence Committee:
The Athletics Inclusive Excellence Committee strives to promote an inclusive environment within the athletic community of WCU. The committee is comprised student-athletes, coaches, athletic department staff members, and representatives from other campus units.

Our mission is to build an inclusive culture within our athletic community. We embrace and empower all WCU student-athletes, and recognize that this includes members of all races, ethnicity, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, and genders. Our committee develops strategies to improve the student-athlete experience and guarantee that every athletic team fosters an inclusive culture. We provide direction and guidance on initiatives and programs, while advocating for a safe and supportive environment for all.

Office of International Programs (link)
The WCU Office of Global Engagement provides leadership and advocacy for students and scholars through international programs and activities on campus and its surrounding community, promotes study abroad opportunities, and coordinates international-related resources for the campus community. WCU Global is the main hub of international engagement at WCU.

Western Carolina University is committed to providing a higher education environment that is free from discrimination based on sex. Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA)Â (link)
SAGA is a WCU Registered Student Organization who collaborates with internal and external groups. SAGA creates connections and support, guides students through their years as undergraduates, and as young people in the LGBTQIA+ community.Â
Safe Zone Program (link)
The mission of the Safe Zone Program at Western Carolina University is to promote awareness, provide resources, and offer a network of allies committed to enhancing the campus and local community's understanding of gender and sexuality. The program supports an inclusive environment for all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, and seeks to foster a community where all members feel respected and valued. The Safe Zone symbol identifies people and places on campus as supportive and affirming for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and community members. It signifies a commitment to safety, trustworthiness, and respect, ensuring that individuals can seek assistance, advice, or engage in conversations within a supportive and respectful environment.
