Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's soccer team snapped a five game losing streak in a 2-0 victory over High Point, Tuesday afternoon at Charles W. Schrader field.
Freshman Kristen Deon recorded her second goal in two days at the 27:30 mark to start the scoring for the Cats. A throw in by teammate Felicia Wilson found Deon just in front of the goal.
Western Carolina's sophomore Nardia Moore recorded her fourth goal of the season at the 75:38 mark when she headed in a throw in by Brandy Ossmann.
The Lady Cats outshot the Panthers 14-8 in the game, while WCU goalkeeper Mandi Tinsley marked three save to High Point's Cindy Watts' five.
Western Carolina will travel to Appalachian State on Friday, October 6 for a 7:30 start. The Lady Cats improve to 6-6-1 and High Point falls to 2-7-1.
