Women's Soccer Loses to Nationally Ranked Clemson

Clemson, S.C. - Western Carolina women's soccer fell to #4 ranked Clemson Sunday afternoon at Historic Riggs Field.

Sophomore Deliah Arrington scored two goals to lead the Lady Tigers to a 4-0 victory. Arrington had the first goal of the match at the 12:24 mark, as she was double assisted on the play by freshman Lindsay Browne and senior Lea Shreve. Arrington would add her second goal of the game and her fifth of the year three minutes into the second half. Browne and junior Leigh Clark assisted on the play.

Clemson scored again at the 56:19 mark on a penalty kick converted by sophomore Rachel Gallegos. Sophomore Heather Beem tallied her second goal of the year seven minutes later to close out the scoring.

Western goalkeeper Mandi Tinsley marked nine saves in the match. She has recorded 36 for the season.

Western Carolina will travel to UNC Greensboro Friday, September 22. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
