On a rained soaked field in Greensboro, NC the Catamount Women's Soccer team battled the
UNC-G Spartans hard for ninety minutes but came up on the short end of a 1-0 score.
The Spartans, Kate Dylag, scored the game's only goal at the 8:29 mark on a kick from the right side of the net that just sailed
past the outstretched arms of Catamount goalie Mandi Tinsley.
The Catamounts entered the game ranked 19th in the country in offensive production in this week's NCAA ratings. They however
could only muster 3 shots on goal through out the contest as the soggy conditions and stingy Spartan defense made conditions
tough for the Catamounts all night long.
Western Carolina, with the loss, fell to 5-3-1 overall and 0-1 in the Southern Conference. The Spartans improved to 3-4-1 overall
and 1-0 in the conference.
The Catamounts road trip continues on Sunday, September 24 as they head to Davidson to battle the Wildcats. Match time is
1:00 PM.
