WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Nathan Jameson scored 16 of his 28 points in the
first half and UNC-Greensboro beat Western Carolina 95-81 on Saturday for its
10th straight at home.
Jameson's two free throws with 23.3 seconds left capped a string of nine in
a row at the line by UNC-Greensboro (15-8, 9-3 Southern Conference). He was
8-for-10 from the floor, including 6-for-10 from 3-point range.
UNC-Greensboro led by as many as 20 points four times in the second half,
the last time with 7:15 remaining at 74-54.
Western Carolina (4-21, 2-10) came back with a 12-2 run capped by Cory
Largent's three free throws to close to within 84-79 with 1:39 left, but the
Catamounts could never overtake UNC-Greensboro.
Jay Joseph, David Schuck and Luke Boythe each had 16 points for the
Spartans.
Casey Rogers scored 19 points for the Catamounts, Largent had 17 and Rans
Brempong added 14 points and five blocks.
