Women's Tennis Falls In First Round

Charleston, S.C. - The Western Carolina women's tennis team fell to Davidson 0-6 in the first round of the Southern Conference Tournament hosted by The Citadel.

Freshman Kristin Munn battled against Davidson's Lindsay Offutt at the No. 1 position. Munn fell the first set 0-6, then fought her way back in the second losing 3-6. Junior Shelby Fitzpatrick fell to Elizabeth Moreno 2-6, 2-6 at the No. 2 position.

In doubles play Fitzpatrick and freshman Shannon Zalinski played Davidson's Moreno and Yasamina Hilu at the No. 1 position. The pair fell 8-5 in a hard fought battle.
