Final Stats

Cullowhee, N.C. - A goal by Tracey Withrow early in the second half proved to be the game-winner as UNC Greensboro handed Western Carolina a 1-0 setback Sunday afternoon at Schrader Field.

The goal, which was second on the year by Withrow, came at 48:26 off a rebound five yards in front of the Catamount net. The shot was one of 18 by the Spartans, who improve to 7-5-2 overall and 5-1-0 in the Southern Conference. Rakel Logadottir had a game-high seven shot attempts. The Catamounts (4-9-2, 1-6 SoCon) fired 12 shots, including four by freshman Stephanie Svoboda.

UNCG keeper Jennifer Stilman recorded her fourth shutout of the season, tallying four saves. WCU's Tina Weaver, who leads the SoCon in saves, added to her league-leading total with six stops on the day.

Prior to the contest, Western Carolina honored its five seniors for the 2003 season. The group, which includes Lauren Bramlett, Kristen Deon, Jordan Howell, Felicia Wilson and Weaver, is just the second graduating class in WCU history. They have compiled a 41-28-7 record to date and were key components on Western's 2001 Southern Conference Championship team.

The Catamounts will return to action Tuesday, Oct. 21, versus Appalachian State. The match is set to begin at 4 pm at Schrader Field.
