Cullowhee, N.C. - The Lady Catamounts improved their record to 5-4 after defeating Presbyterian College Friday, 4-3, at the Reid Gym Courts.
Western took two of the three doubles matches to gain the first point of the match. Rocio Perez and Erin Johnson downed Amanda Floyd and Taylor Lynch, 8-2, while Kristin Cotton and Kristin Munn also won, 8-2, over Anne Gilmore and Lauren Ingle. The number one team of Shannon Zalinski and Megan Bechtold fell to Rachel Key and Elise Netzler, 8-3.
In singles action, WCU teams split wins with Munn defeating Lynch, Cotton defeating Floyd and Zalinski finishing up for the Catamount victory over Gilmore.
WCU continues is home stand Saturday, March 22, against Coastal Carolina at Noon, before heading to East Tennessee State on Sunday.
