Final Stats
Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina (3-5-1, 1-2) fell to Chattanooga (4-3-0, 1-0) as Diana Jallo scored two goals in a 2-1 victory in Southern Conference soccer action Thursday afternoon at Schrader Field.
Early in the first half freshman midfielder Meghan Reilly found Felicia Wilson in front of the net to put the Cats on the board first. However, two minutes later the Mocs would answer back as Jallo scored from 30 yards out to knot the game up at one a piece. The scored remained a 1-1 tie at half time.
Late in the second half the Mocs took a 2-1 advantage as Dusty Griffy found Jallo who scored the game-winner from five yards out.
The Cat's defense allowed 13 shots including four shots on goal, and senior goalkeeper Tina Weaver scooped up two saves on the day. The WCU offense posted 11 shots and five shots on goal.
The Catamounts return to action Saturday, October 4 to take on Coastal Carolina at home. The game is slated to start at Noon, and fans are asked to park at the WCU picnic area and walk across the bridge due to the construction at the soccer, track and tennis complex.
