Charleston, S.C. - Western Carolina's women's tennis team lost its Southern Conference season opener to the College of Charleston Friday, 7-0. The Cougars claimed all three doubles matches for the first point and swept the Catamounts in singles action for the win.
Erin Johnson and Rocio Perez fought hard against Charleston's Gabriella Moreira and Maxine Capewell before falling 8-5 in the number one spot. In singles play, four Lady Cats were brought down in two sets, while Perez and Kristin Cotton each took their opponents to a third set.
The Catamounts face Georgia Southern Saturday (Mar. 6) at 2:30 pm.
