Catamount Soccer Suffers 3-0 Loss to Chattanooga

Chattanooga, Tenn. - Western Carolina women's soccer suffered a 3-0 loss to Chattanooga in their first Southern Conference game of the season at Finley Stadium Wednesday evening.

Chattanooga went up 1-0 in the 22nd minute on a shot from Megan Chismark. The senior was moving down the right side and fielded a pass from sophomore Maya Peel.

The teams went into halftime with the score at 1-0. The Lady Mocs came out in the second half and grabbed two more goals, both the result of corner kicks, to provide the final 3-0 margin over the Catamounts.

Western freshman Lauren Atkinson led the Catamounts on offense with four shots. Junior Natalie Turgeon and freshman Heather Dittmer also contributed two shots a piece for the Catamounts on offense.

Western Carolina returns to action on Friday, Sept. 24 at home as they host the College of Charleston Cougars. Match time is set to begin at 4:00 pm at Schrader Field.
