Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina women's tennis team dropped its second Southern Conference match of the week, falling to UNC Greensboro, 7-0, Saturday afternoon on the road. The loss drops the Catamounts to 3-12 on the season, winless in five conference matches.

In doubles, each WCU team managed to win at least one set as the pair of sophomores Trish Hanson and Mariona Trilla Jane fell to Emily Wade and Sophie Rychlik, 8-3. Sophomore Susanna Sjokvist and freshman Holly Stocks dropped their number two doubles match, 8-1. Western conceded at number three due to a lack of players.

Hanson battled tough at number one singles, taking Wade to the brink on each set before falling, 7-5, 7-5. Trilla Jane also hung tough at number three, falling 6-3, 6-2, and Stocks managed to win one game in the first set at number four before bowing out, 6-0, in the second.

Both Sjokvist at number two and Abbott at number three were swept in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0.

Western returns home to host East Tennessee State in non-conference action at 1:30 pm on Sunday afternoon at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
