Western Carolina Women's Tennis Falls to UNC Asheville 6-1

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's tennis (1-2) fell to rival UNC Asheville (4-1) 6-1 Thursday at the Asheville School.

Sophomore Izabella Glinska picked up the lone victory for the Catamounts. It was her third straight singles victory and her first at No. 1 singles. Glinska won the first set, 5-7, but Leslie Smith evened the match up with a 6-3 victory in the second set. Glinska claimed the match win by defeating Smith 16-14 in a tiebreak.

The Bulldogs opened up the match with a 1-0 lead after winning all three doubles matches.

Western Carolina hosts its first home match of the season February 20 welcoming Charlotte. Match time is set for 2 p.m. at the Catamount Sports Complex.
