- • Western Carolina's 26-5 win in game one of Saturday's double-header marked the 50th career coaching victory for head coach Bobby Moranda ... His first career win came over Marshall in the second game of the 2008 season;

• Trevor Collias moved into a tie for ninth-place on Western Carolina's single-season stolen base record books with three on Saturday ... With 23 on the season, Collias is tied with Matt Raleigh, who accomplished the feat in 1992;

• Two Catamounts recorded their career-firsts on Saturday: back-up catcher, freshman Radley Haddad, posted his first-career triple, legging out a three-bagger as a part of a 2-for-2 afternoon with a career-best three RBI ... Red-shirt freshman Justin Crawley posted his first collegiate hit, an RBI single up the middle late in game one - both the single and the run driven in were the first for the Bryson City, N.C., native;

• Ross Heffley also legged out his first career triple;

• The 26 runs WCU scored in game one were the most this season, while the 25 RBI recorded by the Catamounts also marking a seasonal-best ... WCU was just three runs shy of the school record of 29 set vs. Marshall back in 1992 ... The 26 runs allowed by Samford were the most in a single-game since 2000;
