With the Win ...
- Western Carolina has its first three-game win streak since the 2005 season which included a road win at Chattanooga and home wins over Elon and Wofford ... This season, WCU has home wins over Brevard and Catawba coupled with Saturday's road win over Furman;
- It snaps the Catamounts' eight-game losing skip against the Furman Paladins ... It is the first win over the Paladins since 2005 and first road win in the series since 1994 (W, 35-24);
- Ends WCU's 22-game winless drought on the road, a skid that dated back to 2010 and was the fourth-longest in all of FCS football ... WCU's last road win before today occurred at The Citadel (24-13 on Oct. 13, 2010) ... It also ends WCU's 15-game SoCon road losing streak;
- Gives the Catamounts their most victories in a season since 2008 when they finished 3-9.
- Gives WCU its best start since 2002 when the Catamounts opened the season 3-1.
