With the Win ...
- Halted Western Carolina's two-game losing skid, giving the Catamounts their first victory since the season-opening tally over Mars Hill ... the victory also halted WCU's two-game slide against teams from the Big South Conference;
- Marked Western Carolina's ninth victory over Presbyterian over the last 10 series meetings dating back to 1970;
- The victory was WCU's third-straight at E.J. Whitmire Stadium dating back to 2014;
- The Catamounts' win also pushed WCU's record to 2-2 notching the .500 mark for the first time this season;

Post-Game Notes:
- Sophomore tailback Detrez Newsome rushed for a career-high 189 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday's home victory ... It is his third-straight game with 100-yards rushing -- and the fourth of his WCU career ... Newsome's 72-yard touchdown scamper in the first half represented his fourth rushing touchdown of the season ... He has one in each of the first four games of 2015;

- All told, Newsome now has 14 career rushing touchdowns over his first two seasons in Cullowhee, matching his senior counterpart, Darius Ramsey, who was inactive for Saturday's game;

- Freshman placekicker Logan Howard connected on a career-long 46-yard field goal in the second quarter against Presbyterian ... Later in the game, Howard again stretched his leg, hitting a 45-yard field goal making him 2-for-2 on the day;

- Senior quarterback Troy Mitchell accounted for 301 yards of offense on Saturday including 226 passing and 75 rushing ... He also tallied his 17th career touchdown on the ground with a 36-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter;

- Redshirt senior Karnorris Benson recorded his first 100-yard receiving performance of the year, hauling in a game-high seven passes for 149 yards ... It is his seventh career 100-yard receiving performance;

- With Newsome's 189 yards and Karnorris Benson's 149 receiving yards, it marks the second time this season that Western Carolina had individuals go over 100 yards in both rushing and receiving;

- Junior TE Tyler Sexton tallied a nine-yard touchdown reception ... It is his second-straight year with a receiving score against the Blue Hose -- two of his four career scores have now come against PC;

- Redshirt sophomore linebacker Daniel Riddle matched his career-high with 18 tackles on Saturday ... It was his second, double-digit tackle outing this season and the fourth of his career ... His counterpart, Tyson Dickson, also finished with double-digit tackles with 13, his third-straight double-digit tackle performance and his fifth career;

- Redshirt sophomore DE Tahjai Watt created WCU's first turnover -- which led to the Catamounts' first score of the day ... Watt punched the football loose from PC tailback Darrell Bridges and managed to come up with the football for the takeaway;

- Junior corner Trey Morgan came up with a career-best two interceptions on Saturday, the first two of the season for last year's Southern Conference leader ... Morgan secured both his eighth and ninth career INTs in the win over the Blue Hose ... WCU was +1 in the turnover department vs. PC.

- Western Carolina was flagged for a season-high 13 penalties on Saturday - two that took touchdowns off the board ... Spearman Robinson made an athletic move on a reception over a defender, tight-roping the sideline before racing in on a 56-yard TD reception that was negated to an infraction ... Sertonuse Harris also had a 72-yard interception return for a score washed away by a penalty.

Miscellaneous Notes:
- Western Carolina's team captains for Saturday evening's game were: junior DB #3 Fred Payne; senior DB #4 Sertonuse Harris; senior QB #10 Troy Mitchell; redshirt sophomore LB #58 Daniel Riddle; and redshirt senior OL #61 Jake Thornton ... Western Carolina won the coin toss and elected to defer to the second half ... Presbyterian received the opening kickoff;

- Senior OL #74 Hunter Kirby carried out the American Flag and redshirt junior LB Coleman Cunningham carried out the "All You've Got" flag during pregame on Saturday.
