WCU Fast Cat Invitational Results 
CULLOWHEE, N.C. -
The Western Carolina men's and women's cross country teams closed out the 2015 season with a sweep at the WCU Fast Cat Invitational. The women finished with a perfect score of 15 as they swept the top-five spots in the race to defeated both UNC Asheville and Wofford while the men finished with 23 points to also top UNCA and Wofford. The men took the top three spots in their race while their final two scorers finished in eighth and ninth.
Senior Kaitlyn Shetler closed out her cross country career by winning her final race with a time of 11:22.4 over the two mile course. Sophomore Laney Browder came across next for the Catamounts as she took second after stopping the clock at 11:36.5.
Sophomore Katarina Ruehl took third overall with a time of 11:39.5 while freshman Christina Nikolaou came in fourth at 11:45.2. The final scorer for the Catamount women was freshman Emma Hand who placed fifth after crossing the line at 11:45.7.
Freshman Liam Brooks took the title in the men's 5K with a time of 15:23.8. Junior JC Cornett came across next in second after stopping the clock at 15:32.5. Rounding out the top three was senior Jamie Bigby who closed out his career with a time of 15:43.3.
The final two men scorers were freshmen Jordan Bostian and Harrison Conner. Bostian took eighth in the race with a time of 16:02.1 while Conner came in ninth at 16:07.9.
The Catamounts will now move their focus to the indoor track & field season which opens up Dec. 4-5 at the Appalachian Open in Boone, N.C.
