CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's soccer turned in a dominating defensive performance, controlling the ball for nearly the full 90 minutes of the contest, to defeat visiting UNC Asheville 1-0 Sunday at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

Turning Point

At the 26th minute, Western Carolina senior Eynde Frazier scored the lone goal in the match.

Individual Leaders

- Frazier scored the only goal in the match and also the first goal of the season for the Catamounts.

- Senior goalkeeper Jacquelyn Gnassi was in goal for the full 90 minutes and earned the win and the shutout.

- Frazier took a pass from sophomore Maryanne Kilgore at the 26th minute and scored from the top of the box.

- UNCA took only two shots in the game, one in each half.

- Gnassi only had to deal with one threat from UNCA as a ball sailed high over the goal in the final 10 seconds of the contest.
