Los Angeles, Calif. – Western Carolina softball dropped a pair of games in day two at the LMU Tournament falling to Oregon State 7-0 and falling in the second game 8-0 to host Loyola Marymount in five innings Saturday at Smith Field.

How it Happened
- The Beaver scored two runs in the first, one in the second and exploded for four in the third.
- Western Carolina had three baserunners in the game off three hits.
- Oregon State was held scoreless in the final four innings of the game.
Inside the Box Score
- Junior hurler Kinsey Liscio got the start and went three innings allowing seven runs, three earned, on seven hits and striking out two. She falls to 4-3 on the year.
- Liscio was lifted at the start of the fourth inning and replaced by junior Kylie Shay.
- Shay came into relief and tossed four scoreless innings for the Catamounts giving up two hits and striking out one.
- Seniors Madison Armstrong and Hunter Gibbons along with junior Ashlyn Long each had hits in the game.

Turning Point
Loyola Marymount scored all eight runs in the fourth and fifth inning.
How it Happened
After three scoreless innings, Loyola Marymount took the lead scoring a run in the bottom of the fourth. A two-out walk turned into a run for the Lions courtesy of an RBI single to right field.
The Lions exploded for seven runs in the bottom of the fifth to shorten the game to five innings.
Inside the Box Score
- Shay got the start and sat down 11 straight batters before a walk broke up the streak. She went on to pitch 4.1 innings giving up seven runs, six earned, on six hits and striking out one. She falls to 0-1 on the year.
- Shay was replaced by Liscio who went 0.1 innings giving up one run on three hits.
- The Catamounts had just one base runner in freshman Lindsay Perillo who reached on a Lion error.
News & Notes
- Long had her nine-game hitting streak snapped against Loyola Marymount.
- Western Carolina was shut out in both games on Saturday. It is just the second and third time this season the Catamounts have been shut out in a game.
