Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina men's basketball looks to halt a three-game losing skid on Saturday as the Catamounts host Wofford at 7 p.m. in the Ramsey Center.
Saturday night's game has been billed a "Black Out" with fans encouraged to wear black to the game. The first 400 WCU students will receive a "Black Out" shirt as the Catamounts will break out their black uniforms at home against the Terriers. Purchase tickets in advance in order to secure the best seats and avoid lines on game day. The Catamount Ticket Office and Ramsey Center doors open at 6 pm.
The Catamounts are 12-6 overall and 4-3 in the Southern Conference after an 85-79 loss at Mercer on Wednesday.
Mason Faulkner scored a team-best 23 points while
Carlos Dotson returned from injury to post his ninth double-double of the 2019-20 season with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Travion McCray scored a career-best 13 points in his first career start, hitting three 3-pointers, also a career-best.
Wofford is 15-7 and 5-2 thanks to a 66-54 home win over VMI on Wednesday, holding off the Keydets in the second half. Messiah Jones led the Terriers with a double-double, scoring a team-best 15 points while grabbing 10 rebounds.
The top two 3-point shooting teams in the SoCon will be on the floor in Cullowhee on Saturday. WCU leads the conference and ranks 15
th nationally at 3.85 percent while Wofford is hitting 36.8 percent from distance, 39
th nationally. WCU's 10.6 3-point field goals made per game are second in the SoCon and fourth nationally.
Saturday's game is the 59
th all-time meeting between the schools with Wofford holding a 30-28 lead in the all-time series. The Terriers have won the last five matchups, but the Catamounts are 16-10 in games played in Cullowhee.
Western Carolina's coaching staff will take part in the Coaches vs. Cancer Suits and Sneakers week. Head coach
Mark Prosser and his assistants will wear sneakers with their suits during Saturday's game. The Coaches vs. Cancer program is a nationwide collaboration between the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society and has raised $100 million since its beginning in 1993.
WCU remains at home Wednesday, welcoming UNCG to the Ramsey Center on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
