In the last meeting occurring on Dec. 29, 2015, Duke defeated Western Carolina 84-47 in Cameron Indoor. Western Carolina's three wins against Duke came in the 1970's - the Catamounts won the first three meetings in 1976, 1977, and 1978. • Western Carolina was led in scoring at UNCA by a pair of transfers. Redshirt sophomore Nadia Marshall, from Gulf Coast State, topped the Catamounts with 14 points while Middle Tennessee transfer Kyla Allison had 12.
  • Allison's 12 points against UNCA is the most she has scored in a game since pouring in 24 points against UNCA, almost three years to the date Nov. 26, 2017, while she was playing for Middle Tennessee.
  • The loss to UNCA is Western Carolina's seventh consecutive loss dating back to the 2019-20 season. The Catamounts' last win came on Feb. 8, 2020, with a 61-53 victory at Chattanooga.
  • Head Coach Kiley Hill is searching for his 300th career win as he is sitting at 299.
  • Six of Western Carolina's first seven games are on the road.

  • Duke will open the season without fans and media in Cameron Indoor Stadium due to COVID-19.
  • Duke's 94 points, in the win against Longwood, was the most by any ACC school in the opening game Wednesday.
