CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina plays its first game in the friendly confines of the Ramsey Center in over a month on Wednesday afternoon as the Catamounts welcome mountain rival ETSU to Cullowhee for a 4 p.m. tip-off.
Wednesday's game will be streamed on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required) with audio coverage on the Catamount Sports Network beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Western Carolina is 7-5 overall and 0-3 in league play following an 82-78 road loss against Samford on Monday afternoon. Redshirt senior guard
Mason Faulkner scored a game-high 24 points as the Catamounts rallied back from a 20-point halftime deficit but were unable to complete the comeback. Faulkner has eclipsed the 20-point plateau in back-to-back games for WCU.
ETSU is 7-5 overall and 3-1 in the SoCon after knocking off VMI 92-81 inside Freedom Hall on Monday night after making a school-record 16 3-pointers in the contest. Damari Monsanto posted a double-double with 19 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
The two teams opened the SoCon season against each other three weeks ago in Johnson City with the Bucs earning an 86-78 win. In that game, the Bucs used a 17-4 second half run to seize control and held off a late Catamount rally in the final moments. ETSU enters Wednesday's game having won the last 12 matchups with the Catamounts and enjoys a 61-25 lead in the all-time series.
WCU ventures to Wofford on Saturday for a 4 p.m. tip-off with the Terriers. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required) with audio available on the Catamount Sports Network beginning at 3:30 p.m.
