AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and UNCA meet for the 58th time on Friday with the series dating back to 1968 before the two team's entrance into the NCAA. Overall, WCU holds a 40-17 advantage over the Bulldogs, but UNCA has won the last three meetings and four of the last five. The Catamounts' last home win over UNCA came four years ago to the date, Nov. 12, 2017, as Western Carolina won 62-52. Tembre Moates was the only current player on the team during the victory. Western Carolina is 22-8 at home all-time against UNCA.
  • Graduate transfer Madison Pack played in her first collegiate game, Tuesday against Emory & Henry, since March 7, 2020, as her previous team, Columbia University, opted out of the 2020-21 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Nadia Marshall recorded the third double-double of her Catamount career in the game against Emory & Henry. It was the fourth time here at WCU she has notched a double-figure rebounding game.
  • All 14 players saw action against Emory & Henry with 12 of the 14 getting in the scoring column.
  • The 72 points scored by Western Carolina in its home-opening win over Emory & Henry is the most by a Catamount team, in an opening of the season game, since the 2007-08 season when that squad defeated Detroit Mercy 85-65.
