Catamounts Close Out Four-Game Homestand Saturday

Welcomes in Charleston Southern for afternoon tilt

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's basketball closes out a four-game home stand hosting Charleston Southern at 4 p.m. Saturday on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and Charleston Southern meet for the 13th time on Saturday with the Catamounts holding onto a 9-3 record over the Buccaneers. Charleston Southern snapped a two-game losing streak to the Catamounts on Dec. 13, 2020, defeating WCU 66-56 in Charleston, S.C. The Catamounts are undefeated at home against Charleston Southern (6-0) with the last home victory over CSU coming on Dec. 4, 2019, with the Catamounts winning 69-64. Current player Tembre Moates had 12 points in the home win in 2019.
  • Western Carolina faces off against a team for the Big South Conference for the third straight game when WCU takes on Charleston Southern Saturday. For the season, the Catamounts are 1-1 against Big South teams.
  • Western Carolina is 2-1 to start the season for the first time since 2015-16 when the team also opened the year 2-1.
  • Sophomore Audrey Meyer's first field goal of the season was the game-winner in the 52-51 victory over Presbyterian on Tuesday.
  • Vanessa Oduah's 15.3 points per game rank third in the SoCon.
 
AN INSIDE LOOK AT CHARLESTON SOUTHERN:
  • Charleston Southern is looking for its first win of the season after a pair of losses to open the season.
  • The Buccaneers opened the season facing Alabama, one of the Catamounts' future opponents. Charleston Southern dropped its contest to the Crimson Tide 109-32.
  • Charleston Southern lost its home opener 66-54 to George Mason as a late rally in the fourth quarter fell short.
  • Tori Gittens leads the Buccaneers averaging 11.5 points per game.
