Warren Wilson enters Wednesday's game with a 1-4 record and will be playing its second NCAA Division I opponent of the season. The Owls were last in action on Nov. 23, dropping a 110-32 decision at NC Central. That game and Wednesday's game are both considered exhibition contests for the NCAA Division III member. Warren Wilson split a pair of games against Atlantis University to open the season, falling in overtime to open the year before winning 92-61 in the return bout. The Owls also have losses against Emory & Henry, Berry College, and Oglethorpe.
The teams have met three times previously – each coming in Cullowhee – with the Catamounts holding a 3-0 lead in the all-time series, having won all three games by an average of 42 points. The two programs last met on Dec. 3, 2015, as WCU claimed a 96-45 victory.
Including Wednesday's meeting with Warren Wilson, the Catamounts play three of their next four games at home. The lone road game in that stretch is this Saturday, Dec. 4, as the Catamounts venture to the Palmetto State to face USC Upstate inside Eddie and Ann Payne Arena at the G.B. Hodge Center at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast on the Catamount Sports Network with a 5:30 p.m. air time with video coverage on ESPN+ (
