Catamounts Host Davidson Monday

Final home game before holiday break

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's hosts Davidson at 5 p.m. Monday, on Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center, in its final contest before the 11-day holiday break.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and Davidson meet for the 56th time on Dec. 20. The Catamounts and the former SoCon member met 44 times in conference play with Davidson holding a 25-19 record. Overall, Davidson leads the series 29-26. Davidson has won the last 11 meetings including a 101-51 victory at Davidson on Nov. 20, 2019. Western Carolina's last victory over Davidson was on Jan. 5, 2011 with the Catamounts knocking off the Wildcats 60-48 in Cullowhee. It is an even record in Cullowhee with each team winning 13.
  • Western Carolina shot a season-high 50 percent from the field in the win over South Carolina State Dec. 12.
  • Western Carolina has scored 60 or more points in five games this season with a record of 4-1. 
  • Opponents are shooting 30.7 percent (11-251) from behind the three-point arch this season against the Catamounts. WCU is hitting just 20.1 percent (33-164).
  • Endia Holliday becomes the third Catamount this season, joining Nadia Marshall and Vanessa Oduah, to score 20 or more points in a game with her 21 points at South Carolina State.
  • Redshirt senior Tembre Moates has 497 career rebounds and needs three boards to become the 30th Catamount to join the 500 Rebound Club. 
 
 
AN INSIDE LOOK AT DAVIDSON:
  • Davidson plays its second-straight team from the SoCon as it faced UNCG Dec. 18. The Wildcats defeated the Spartans 56-52.
  • With the victory over UNCG, the Wildcats are on a two-game winning streak.
  • Davidson has two players averaging in double figures led by Elle Sutpin's 12.1 points per game. Suzi-Rose Deegan follows with 11.5 points per contest.
  • Davidson is averaging 64.9 points per game and giving up 61.
  • The Wildcats have won seven of its last eight games with the only hiccup a 65-51 loss at Elon.
  • Davidson is 2-2 on the road this season.
