Catamounts Conclude Road Swing at Campbell Monday

Look to bounce back

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's basketball completes a two-game road swing Monday with a trip to Campbell for a 7 p.m. tip-off.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and Campbell meet for the 22nd time on Monday. The Camels hold a slight edge over WCU 11-10 and have won the last five meetings. The two teams last met on Nov. 14, 2019, with Campbell coming away from Cullowhee with a 61-40 win. The Catamount's last win over Campbell came in Cullowhee on Nov. 24, 2014, with a 67-57 victory. The Catamounts are 2-5 all-time at Campbell. The last Catamount win at Campbell was on Nov. 21, 2003, as WCU won 56-43. The two team's first meeting was on Feb. 2, 1973, with Western Carolina winning 59-49.
  • Five of Western Carolina's first nine games, on the season, has been against Big South opponents and the team is 2-3 against the team in that conference. WCU will face its final Big South Team on Monday at Campbell.
  • Redshirt junior Nadia Marshall notched her second double-double of the season with 17 points and 16 rebounds against Winthrop. She has scored in double figures in the last four games averaging 15.5 points per game. 
  • The Catamounts have had two or more players score in double figures in a game in six of the nine games on the year.
  • Marshall leads the Catamounts averaging 13.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
 
AN INSIDE LOOK AT CAMPBELL:
  • Campbell will have not played in five days when the Camels meet the Catamounts on Monday.
  • The Camels last game was Dec. 1 against South Carolina State, a future opponent of WCU, with Campbell winning 67-46.
  • Campbell is 3-1 at home to start the season.
  • Taya Bolden leads Campbell averaging 11.9 points per game.
