Catamounts Return Home Thursday Hosting Tennessee Tech

 CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's basketball returns home Thursday hosting Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and Tennessee Tech meet for the 10th time on Thursday with TTU holding a 7-2 advantage. The Golden Eagles have won the last four meetings including a 67-63 victory on Dec. 16, 2020, in Cookeville Tenn. The Catamounts' last victory over Tennessee Tech was on Nov. 26, 2011, winning 61-58 in Cookeville. The two teams first met on Mar. 10, 1974, with the Catamounts falling 62-51.
  • The game against Tennessee Tech is the third of four games in eight days for WCU.
  • Junior Nadia Marshall ranks in the top 100 in the NCAA in four categories. She is 43rd in field goals made (55 - 1st in the SoCon), 67th in rebounds (74), 79th in field goal attempts (112) and 99th in minutes played (288:50).
  • Jacey Justice has hit at least one three-pointer in four of her last five games including in the last two. Justice hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer, at the end of the game at Campbell, to push her 3-point streak to two games straight.
 
 
AN INSIDE LOOK AT TENNESSEE TECH:
  • As a team, Tennessee Tech is shooting .418, .255 from 3-point range as it has knocked down 39 of 153 tries. The Golden Eagles are also shooting .702 from the free-throw line. Tech is averaging 64.9 points per game and allowing an average of 67.4 points per game.
  • Anna Jones leads Tennessee Tech averaging 11.6 points per game and she is closely followed by Mackenzie Coleman averaging 11.4 points.
  • Golden Eagle Anna Walker will be a familiar face for the Catamounts as she played her freshman year at Chattanooga and had a career-best 16 points against Western Carolina (2/11/21).
