CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina plays the first of back-to-back home games over a three-day stretch on Saturday as the Catamounts welcome Wofford to the Ramsey Regional Activity Center for a 1 p.m. matinee.

WCU is 9-13 overall and 2-11 in the Southern Conference following a heart-breaking 89-81 overtime loss at Chattanooga on Wednesday. Junior
Cory Hightower led WCU with 19 points, adding nine rebounds and dishing out five assists while sophomore
Xavier Cork logged his third double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Senior
Matt Halvorsen made five 3-pointers.
Wofford enters Saturday's contest with a 13-8 overall record and a 10-5 league mark after an 81-67 home win over The Citadel Wednesday night. Point guard Storm Murphy led the Terriers with 26 points with Messiah Jones adding 21. The win for the Terriers snapped a two-game losing skid and kept Wofford within percentage points of the top spot in the conference standings.
Saturday's game is the 62
nd all-time meeting in a series that is nearly deadlocked. Wofford leads the all-time series 31-30 after a 91-78 win at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium back on Jan. 23. In that game, Murphy scored 28 points as the Terriers pulled away in the second half after leading by just three at halftime. Halvorsen led four Catamounts in double figures with 19 points in that first meeting as Wofford halted WCU's two-game series win streak.
The Catamounts have a short turnaround, hosting league-leading UNCG on Monday (Feb. 22) in a makeup game at 5 p.m. That contest will be streamed on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required) with audio on the Catamount Sports Network beginning at 4:30 p.m.
