AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and ETSU meet for the 56th time on Tuesday. The two teams were regularly scheduled to meet on Jan. 29 and Jan. 31 but COVID concerns on the Bucs' side caused the games to be postponed. ETSU has won the last 13 meetings. In last years' meeting in Johnson City, Western Carolina lost 76-49 on Feb. 6, 2020. The Catamounts are 4-31 all-time at ETSU. Western Carolina's last win against ETSU came on Dec. 1, 2013, when the Buccaneers were not in the Southern Conference. WCU won the game 58-56 in Cullowhee.
  • Catamount freshmen got starts in the pair of games at Furman. KK Davis earned the start in the Feb. 19 game at Furman and Audrey Meyers got the starting nod in the Feb. 21 games.
  • Redshirt junior Kyla Allison leads the team scoring in double figures having scored in double figures 10 times this season. She currently leads the team 10.7 points per game and shooting 41.4 percent from the field. She ranks 13th in the conference with her 10.7 points per game. She has scored 20 or more points twice this season including a 23-point performance in game one against Furman.
  • After scoring just two points in the previous two games, Nadia Marshall got back into the double-digit scoring business with 10 points in game two against Furman. In conference-only games, Marshall is averaging 9.2 points per game.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE BUCCANEERS:
  • ETSU has played just three games in February after COVID protocols forced the Buccaneers to postpone and shuffle the game. In those three games, ETSU dropped a pair of games at Furman and lost a single game at Samford.
  • In the Feb. 20 game at Samford, Carly Hooks scored a career-high 16 points in the 77-58 loss to the Bulldogs.
  •  None of the ETSU players are averaging double figures in scoring. Jasmine Sanders leads the Bucs averaging 9.7 points per game.
