CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina softball begins a 10-game home stand as the Catamounts welcome Radford for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The doubleheaders will be broadcast on ESPN+.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
- Western Carolina and Radford meet for the second time this season. The two teams tangled at Radford on Mar. 5 with the Highlanders sweeping the doubleheader 9-8 (10 innings) and 12-8. Radford leads the overall series 12-3 and has won the last five meetings. WCU has won two of its three games against the Highlanders at home. Radford was the last team Western Carolina played in 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the rest of the season.
Western Carolina and USC Upstate meet for the 23rd and 24th time on Wednesday. The Spartans hold a 21-2 lead over the Catamounts and WCU has lost six-straight to Upstate. Western Carolina last defeated USC Upstate in 2016 with a 12-11 thanks to former Catamounts and current assistant coach Madison Armstrong's walk-off RBI single.
- Western Carolina is 3-2 over the last five games.
- Junior Bailey Huneycutt hit her fifth home run of the season in the second game of the doubleheader with the Mocs. She paces the team with 20 hits and also tops the team with 15 runs scored. She has hit a home run in two of the last four games.
- Sophomore pitcher Jayme Eilers notched her second shutout of the season and has fanned a team-leading 65 batters. She has 88 strikeouts in her career which ranks 13th in the WCU record books. She needs 13 strikeouts to move into the 12th.
- In the extra-inning game against Radford, earlier in the season, Western Carolina had a season-high 14 hits, a season-best eight runs, season-best eight RBI, and a season-high 43 at-bats.
AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE OPPONENTS:
- Radford earned a Big South series sweep of Gardner-Webb this past weekend and have won three straight after outscoring the Runnin' Bulldogs 18-2 in the three-game series. The Highlanders have three players hitting above .300 led by Sydney Fisher who is hitting .370 with 34 hits in 26 games played. Jessie Marvin is the leading pitcher for the Highlanders with a record of 4-8, 4.65 ERA, and 33 strikeouts.
