Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina football's road game against nationally-ranked Oklahoma on Saturday, Sept. 11, will kick at 7:00 pm ET / 6:00 pm CT at the Sooners' Gaylord Family-Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman, Okla. The home-opening game for the Sooners and the first-ever meeting between the two programs on the gridiron will also be made available via a pay-per-view broadcast.
The game is being televised on a pay-per-view basis because it was not selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage. It will be available on a dedicated pay-per-view channel nationwide via participating satellite and Telco distributors. Pricing will vary by distributor. The game will also be available worldwide on SoonerSports.tv for a pay-per-view price of $54.99.
A limited number of tickets to the game in Norman are available through the Catamount Club. WCU fans are encouraged to contact the Catamount Club offices at (828) 227-3047 to be added to the interest list. Single game ticket prices are $65 per ticket.
Confirmed providers offering the telecast include DirecTV, Cox, U-Verse, and Vyve. Cable TV subscribers must have digital cable to order the telecast. Customers can order the game from their set-top boxes or by calling their program provider. Please note, providers NOT expected to carry the PPV game include DISH and Sling. Western Carolina opens the 2021 season – the first under head coach
Kerwin Bell – on Labor Day weekend, hosting the Eastern Kentucky Colonels at E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field on Saturday, Sept. 4. The game has been picked up as a part of the Southern Conference's Ingles / Nexstar television package with a simulcast through ESPN+ with kickoff scheduled for 6 pm. WCU looks to #WhiteOutWhitmire with all fans encouraged to wear white to the game as the Catamounts wear their new white Nike uniforms for the first time.
Following the game, stick around for an encore presentation by the "Pride of the Mountains" Marching band and postgame fireworks presented by Ingles and iHeartRadio partners 99.9 FM Kiss Country and Star 104.3.
