Groen and Osadova Win B Doubles Consolation Final at ITA Carolina Regional

Catamounts continue play Sunday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Jade Groen and Dasha Osadova won the B Doubles Consolation Final at the ITA Carolina Regional Saturday hosted by Wake Forest. The Catamounts continue to play in the tournament Sunday.

B DOUBLES CONSOLATION FINAL:
Jade Groen and doubles partner Dasha Osadova took their 8-4 win on Friday and parlayed it to a finals win on Saturday in the consolation bracket. The duo defeated UNC Wilmington's tandem 8-7 (7-4) to win the consolation doubles title.

WOMEN'S OPEN SINGLES:
A 1-DRAW CONSOLATION:
Isabella Sambola dropped her in the consolation bracket to Coastal Carolina's Victoire de Samucewicz 7-5, 6-3.

A 2 CONSOLATION
Leilany Ipunesso fell to UNC Wilmington's Lauren Gish 6-3, 6-1.

B 2 CONSOLATION:
Osadova breezed through a pair of consolation matches to reach the finals of the B 2 consolation bracket. She defeated UNCG's Ella Olexa 6-3, 6-4 in the qualifying quarterfinals to move to a bye in the quarterfinals. She came back later in the day to win an epic back in the semifinals. Osadova defeated Davidson's Linden Patterson 2-6, 6-0, 10-4. This sets up a consolation final match with former Catamount Kata Foldeak, who transferred to Coastal Carolina, on Sunday.

B 1 CONSOLATION:
Chloe Schwarz is set to play in the quarterfinals of the B 1 consolation bracket Sunday.

QUALIFYING CONSOLATION:
Groen picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win over Jill Morse from Queens University in the quarterfinals before falling in the semifinals 3-6, 2-6 Presbyterian's Lucianna Piedra.

Western Carolina continues to play in the ITA Carolina Regional Sunday.
