Catamount Tennis Competes in NCCU Invitational

WCU heads to Durham for the first official fall tournament

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – After two failed attempts to host the WCU Fall Invite, twice postponed due to inclement weather, Western Carolina women's tennis finally opens the fall portion of its schedule this weekend. The Catamounts travel to Durham, N.C., to compete in the NCCU Invitational, hosted by North Carolina Central on Friday Oct. 7 and Saturday Oct. 8.

In addition to the host NC Central, the Catamounts will compete against Shaw, Radford, East Carolina, Davidson, North Carolina A&T, and Norfolk State.

Head coach Bret Beaver has a young group of Catamounts including six freshmen and a pair of sophomores. His incoming group comprises one of the Top 25 recruiting classes in the mid-major level of college competition, according to the Tennis Recruiting Network (TRN).
