Catamounts Add Beans and Robinson for 2023-24

Cullohwee, N.C. - Western Carolina head women's basketball coach Kiley Hill today announced two additions for the 2023-24 season in Tyja Beans and Tyra Robinson.

Tyja Beans
5-11 | Forward | Spruce Creek High School | Port Orange, Fla.   
  • Averaged 11 points and eight rebounds per game in her junior season.
  • Won five MaxPreps Basketball Player of the Game honors.
  • Scored a game-high 31 points in the Region 7A semi-final game.
  • In her three years at Spruce Creek, she averaged 10.5 points and 8.4 rebounds per game.
  • She has played in a total of 74 games for Spruce Creek.
  • In 2021 ranked 77th in the All-Star National Rankings.

Tyra Robinson
6-2 | Center | Parkview Arts and Science Magnet High School | Little Rock, Ark.
  • As a junior averaged 15 points and seven rebounds for Parkview.
  • Helped Parkview to state titles in 2021 and 2022.
  • Earned 5 A Central All-State and All-Conference in her freshman, sophomore and junior seasons.
