AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina opens the season 2-0 for the first time since the 2015-16 season.
  • Western Carolina hits the road for five-straight road games and will not be back home for the rest of November. WCU returns home on Dec. 1 hosting Queens in its annual Education Day game.
  • Western Carolina has defeated one ranked team in its program history. Under former head coach, and current Tennessee Lady Vol Coach, Kellie Harper, the 2007-08 club defeated No. 21/22 Louisville 77-72 at the Minnesota Subway Classic hosted by Minnesota.
  • Shayane Poirot-Allard's five three-pointers in the win over Winthrop on Thursday is tied for 10th in program history for three-pointers in a game.
  • LSU is the first of two Power Five opponents Western Carolina has on the schedule this season. The Catamounts travel to Clemson on Dec. 10.
  • Western Carolina and LSU meet for the first time on Sunday. The Tigers are the ninth team from the Southeastern Conference the Catamounts have faced in its history. WCU has also played: Auburn (1-2), Alabama (0-1), Georgia (1-2), Kentucky (1-1), Mississippi (0-1), South Carolina (0-1), Tennessee (10-10 with all 10 wins occurring in the '60s and '70's) and Vanderbilt (0-2).
 AN INSIDE LOOK AT LSU:
  • LSU opens the season 2-0. Friday's game against Mississippi Valley State marked the second time in program history (also during the 1995-96) that LSU scored over 100 points in consecutive games. With a 75-point win Monday against Bellarmine and tonight's 70-point win, LSU has opened its season with consecutive wins by at least 70 points.
  • Over the first two games, Angel Reese paces the Tigers averaging 23.5 points per game.
  • The Tigers are averaging 118 points per game over the first two contests.
  • Neither one of the Tigers first two opponents reached 50 points in the game.
  • LSU was picked to finish third in the SEC Coaches' preseason poll.
