AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • The Catamounts return home after three weeks on the road. WCU opened the season with back-to-back home game wins.
  • Western Carolina had a season-low eight turnovers at UNC Asheville. It is the least number of turnovers since the Catamounts had eight at Chattanooga on Jan. 20, 2022.
  • After missing two games due to injury, graduate student Kyla Allison returned to the lineup at Charleston Southern Nov. 28. She has scored in double figures, 14 at CSU and 11 at UNC Asheville, in back-to-back games.
  • Shayane Poirot-Allard played 38 minutes against UNCA. In the last four games, she has played 157 minutes missing a total of three minutes of play.
  • As a team, WCU has dished out double-digit assists in four games this season including a season-best 14 at Presbyterian.
  • Western Carolina and Queens meet for the first time on Thursday. This is the first time the Catamounts have faced a team from the ASUN Conference since 2017 when WCU faced Eastern Kentucky. In the Nov. 15, 2017, meeting with the Colonels, the Catamounts lost 62-59.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT QUEENS:
  • Western Carolina will notice a familiar face on the bench for Queens. Jaylynn Brown played for UNCG in the 2020-21 season. In the Feb. 26, 2021, game in Cullowhee, Brown played 29 minutes scoring 12 points.
  • The Royals are off to the best six-game start to a season since the 2000-01 campaign, when they started 5-1. All four victories have come inside Curry Arena.
  • Queens is looking to grab their first road victory of the season, currently sitting at 0-2.
  • Kasey Kidwell and Jordyn Weaver each lead the team averaging 10.8 points per game.
