CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's basketball will face off against UNC Wilmington at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday as part of the Cherokee Invitational / Women's College Basketball Showcase in Cherokee, N.C. at the Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Resort.
Tickets to Catamounts' game against the Seahawks is $15.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
- Western Carolina is one win away from tying its win total of seven from the 2021-22 season.
- Western Carolina has scored 60 or more points in back-to-back games.
- The Catamounts will play its first neutral site game on Wednesday when WCU plays UNC Wilmington at Harrah's Cherokee Casino & Resort.
- WCU has shot 40 plus percent from the field in the last two contests.
- Graduate student Kyla Allison scored a career-high 25 points against North Carolina Central Monday. She bested her previous career total of 24 she set twice - once at her former school Middle Tennessee and once at Western Carolina.
- Allison is 24-of-26 from the free throw line this season shooting 92.3 percent. That mark ranks second in the Southern Conference.
- Junior Audrey Meyers has bested her seasonal scoring mark of 64 points, from the 2021-22 season, with 65 in the first 13 games with 65. She is one field goal shy of tying the most field goals in a season with 22 on the year and has hit a seasonal-best 19 free throws. She has also swatted a career-best six blocks on the year. Her 4.9 rebounds per game is ranked 17th in the SoCon.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT UNC WILMINGTON:
- UNCW, who played for the first time in 11 days, fell 68-53 at Coastal Carolina last Sunday. The Seahawks led all but 55 seconds of the first two quarters to enter halftime in front, 26-24. Coastal, however, dominated the final two periods by a 44-27 margin to claim its third straight win.
- UNCW played Wofford, a 2022 WNIT team, close at home in late November before falling, 67-66.
- Carrie Gross leads UNCW averaging 13.8 points per game. She is followed by Mary McMillan who is averaging 12.2.
- The Seahawks are trying to break a three-game losing streak. UNCW is 0-5 in road games this year.
- UNCW's last win came on Dec. 1 with a 79-61 victory over Winthrop.
