CULLOWHEE, N.C. – The "Battle for Purple Supremacy" resumes on Wednesday evening as Western Carolina men's basketball hosts chromatic rival Furman for a 7 p.m. contest on Ingles Court at the Ramsey Center.
Admission to the game between Catamounts and Paladins is $11 for adults and $6 for youth 12 and under. Kids 2 and under get in free. WCU students gain free admission to the game by showing their Cat Card at the Northwest Entrance and are encouraged to sit in the Cat Cage student section located in sections QR. The first 500 students in attendance will receive a t-shirt courtesy of Millhouse Properties.
A reminder that approved face coverings that properly cover the nose and mouth are required to be worn at all times within WCU campus buildings including the Ramsey Center when not actively eating or drinking. Fans are also asked to physically distance with arena seating limited to every other row inside the Ramsey Center. Additionally, fans are asked to leave two seats between their party and others.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required) with live Catamount Sports Network audio coverage commencing at 6:30 p.m., streaming online at CatamountSports.com and can be heard locally on 105.7 FM / 540 AM WRGC, The River and online at WRGC.com.
WCU is 9-18 overall and 3-11 in Southern Conference play following a 69-57 loss at Wofford last Saturday.
Nicholas Robinson led WCU with 15 points – his 23rd double-digit effort of the season – while adding seven rebounds.

Joe Petrakis, and
Marvin Price each contributed nine points apiece in the contest. Robinson leads WCU and ranks seventh in the SoCon in scoring at 15.4 ppg, while also ranking fifth in rebounding at 7.4 rpg.
Furman is 17-10 overall and 9-5 in league games after a 64-58 home setback against Chattanooga on Saturday. It was a third-consecutive loss for the Paladins, dropping Furman three games outside of first-place in the race for the conference regular-season championship. Jalen Slawson led the Paladins with 24 points with 11 points each from Mike Bothwell and Marcus Foster against the league-leading Mocs. Slawson and Bothwell rank tied for eighth, in the SoCon in seasonal scoring at 15.3 points per game with Slawson also ranking fourth in the league in rebounding at 7.6 rpg.
The Catamounts and Paladins meet for the 81st time with Furman leading the all-time series 51-29. Furman won the first matchup this season 88-50 in Greenville, S.C., back on Jan. 19. WCU leads the series in Cullowhee, 20-16, and looks to put the clamps on an overall 12-game series slide.
WCU remains at home Saturday, hosting Mercer at 2 p.m. in the front end of a doubleheader with the women's basketball team at 5 p.m.
