Will face No. 1 seed Mercer in SoCon Tourney

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Western Carolina women's basketball closed out the regular season with a 67-39 loss at UNCG Saturday in Fleming Gym.
 
The Catamounts will be the No. 8 seed in the upcoming 2022 Ingles SoCon Women's Basketball Championship facing No. 1 seed Mercer at 11 am Thursday at Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina.
 
Turning Point:
UNCG opened the first quarter on a 17-0 run and built a lead Western Carolina could never recover from.
 
 Individual Leaders
  • Zanoria Cruz and Audrey Meyers each had nine points in the game to lead the Catamounts.
  • Nadia Marshall ended the game with seven points and six rebounds.
  • Pernilla Sorenson led UNCG with 12 points.
