Catamounts Set to Host Doubleheader Friday

Welcomes Young Harris and Tusculum

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis returns to the court Friday for a pair of matches. The Catamounts will host Young Harris at noon and Tusculum at 3 p.m. at the Catamount Tennis Complex.

The pair of matches will be the first for the Catamounts in 12 days. WCU was scheduled to face Kennesaw State on Jan. 30 but the match was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns within the Owls' program.

Western Carolina is currently 1-2 on the season after dropping a doubleheader at Clemson, Jan. 22, 6-1, 5-1. Western Carolina made a bit of history against the Tigers picking up points against Clemson for the first time in each of the matches with a singles match win in the first match and winning the doubles point in the second contest.

The match on Friday, for Young Harris, will be the second-straight contest against a Southern Conference opponent as the Lions fell to Mercer 7-0 Jan. 29. It will also be the second match of the season for the team.

Tusculum will be playing their third match of the season against Western Carolina. The Pioneers defeated North Greenville 6-1 on Nov. 1 and came back for 2022 falling to UNC Asheville 7-0.

Live stats will be provided for the matches: https://sidearmstats.com/wcu/wten/xlive.htm
