Catamounts Complete Home Stand by Hosting Wofford Saturday

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina women's basketball closes out a three-game home stand Saturday hosting Wofford at 2 p.m. Saturday on Ingles Court in the Ramsey Center.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:
  • Western Carolina and Wofford meet for the 58th time on Saturday. The Terriers have won seven of the last 10 games. The Terriers won the last meeting, on Jan. 6, 2022, 72-48 in Spartanburg. Western Carolina is 18-10 all-time at home against Wofford. WCU's last home win came last season, Jan. 23, 2021, defeating the Terriers 65-54. The two teams first met on Nov. 25, 2005, with Western Carolina defeating Wofford 80-65.
  • Sophomore Joi Reid scored a career-high 12 points against Furman on Thursday, Feb. 3. She also dished out a career-best six assists. Reid also paces the team with 12 blocks on the year. 
  • Nadia Marshall and Zanoria Cruz have each led the team in scoring nine times this season - a team-high.
  • Western Carolina is giving up 59.6 points per game this season which is the second-fewest points allowed, based on stats available, in program history. 
  • Nadia Marshall leads the team averaging 10.5 points per game.
 
AN INSIDE LOOK AT WOFFORD:
  • Wofford is in on a three-game winning streak after knocking off UNCG 63-45 Thursday. 
  • Terrier Jackie Carman hit eight three-pointers against UNCG, on Feb. 3 for 24 points in the game. 
  • Carman also leads the team scoring 12.2 points per game. 
  • Wofford is tied with Mercer for the top spot in the SoCon race with a 6-1 record.
