Cullowhee, N.C. – Due to the combination of inclement weather and unfavorable weather forecasts through the evening hours, Friday's baseball series opener between Western Carolina and UT Martin scheduled for Childress Field / Hennon Stadium has been postponed.
The three-game nonconference series between the Catamounts and Skyhawks will now open at 2 p.m. ET in doubleheader action on Saturday. Game two of the twinbill will begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Officials at WCU also announced that Sunday's series finale has been pushed back an hour, now slated for a 2 p.m. ET first pitch.
Each game is still slated to be broadcast on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required) with
live stats available online through CatamountSports.com.
Western Carolina (8-9) and UT Martin (6-9) meet for the first time on the baseball diamond with this weekend's three-game series. The Catamounts have won three of their last five while UTM snapped a two-game slide with a midweek victory over Southern Illinois in Martin, Tenn.
