Asheville, N.C. – Tuesday night's mountain rivalry match-up between Western Carolina and UNC Asheville at Greenwood Field has been postponed due to rain and wet field conditions, officials at UNCA announced this afternoon. The two teams will look to reschedule the nonconference midweek game this season, though no makeup date has been announced.
Western Carolina (14-18, 0-3 SoCon) returns home for four-straight at Childress Field / Hennon Stadium, first hosting the Samford Bulldogs (15-14, 2-1 SoCon) in a Thursday through Saturday, three-game Southern Conference series. Samford visits No. 17 Auburn on Tuesday evening in nonconference action.
Both Thursday and Saturday's games are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN+ (
paid subscription required) with Friday's game two slated for a Catamount Sports Network audio broadcast online at CatamountSports.com. Fans can follow each game with live stats through WCU's Athletics website.
