MERCER
- Western Carolina and Mercer meet for the 26th, 27th, and 28th time this weekend.Â
- The Catamounts and Bears last met in the 2021 Southern Conference Championships with the Catamounts coming away with a 4-1 victory to advance to the conference championship game.Â
- Western Carolina has won three of the last four meetings.Â

- The Bears dropped their midweek matchup against Auburn 10-0 in five innings.
- Mercer is on a two-game losing streak after falling to Auburn and dropping the final game of the series last weekend against Furman.Â
- Diamond Williams leads the team with a batting average of .337. Williams is tied with Annie Potter in doubles (7). Potter and Alyssa Woods are tied at two triples.
- In the circle, Hannah Pitts leads with a 4.82 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. Pitts holds a W-L record of 4-12. Â

WESTERN CAROLINA NOTES
- Junior Bailey Treadway launched a pinch-hit home run Wednesday against No. 15 Tennessee. It was Treadyway's first home run of her Catamount career and the first time the Catamounts have hit a home run off Lady Vol pitching in the seven meetings.Â
- Western Carolina has hit 32 home runs this season which is tied for ninth in the WCU record books for most home runs by a team in a season.Â
- Western Carolina pitcher Savannah Rice now has 112 strikeouts this season and sits in 11th place for strikeouts in a season. She needs four strikeouts to move into 10th place. That mark is good for third in the conference.
- Senior Bailey Huneycutt has 31 home runs in her Catamount career and ranks second in the WCU record books. She needs five home runs to take the long ball crown from former Catamount Hunter Gibbons who ended her career with 35.Â
- Huneycutt also leads the team in home runs this season with nine which is tied for fifth in the conference. She also ranks third in the SoCon for RBI with 32.Â
- Western Carolina's single-season stolen base leader Brooklynn Brewington has swiped 20 bases this season. That mark is good for second place in the conference behind ETSU's Kelly Warren who has 22. Brewington and Warren are the only two conference players to have 20 or more stolen bases this season.Â
- Senior Myra Twitty's seven home runs are a season-high for the first baseman. Her 13 runs scored is also a new season-best.Â
