Series Breakdown

CHATTANOOGA
  • Western Carolina and Chattanooga meet for the 50th, 51st and 52nd time this weekend.
  • The Catamounts split the doubleheader in 2021 as weather forced the three-game series to a doubleheader. WCU won the second game of the doubleheader 2-0.
  • Western Carolina has won the last two meetings as the Catamounts defeated Chattanooga 5-0 in the opening round of the 2021 SoCon Championships.

Notes:
  • Chattanooga enters the final conference weekend on a two-game losing streak. The Mocs dropped two of three against Mercer last weekend.
  • The Mocs have won two conference series this season taking series wins against Furman and ETSU.
  • Chattanooga is 1-10 on the road with its lone road victory coming Mar. 11 at Middle Tennessee with a 3-1 win over the Blue Raiders. The Mocs have lost their last eight road contests.
  • Emily Colthrap paces the Mocs at the plate with a .366 batting average. She has 56 hits, 23 runs scored, seven doubles, two triples and 17 RBI.
  • As a team, Chattanooga has 39 home runs.
  • In the circle, Brooke Parrott tops the Mocs' pitching staff with a 2.66 ERA, a 10-7 record and 64 strikeouts.

WESTERN CAROLINA NOTES
  • Bailey Huneycutt's 35 career home runs are tied for the most home runs in the Catamount record books. She is tied with former Catamount Hunter Gibbons. For the season Huneycutt has 13 home runs on the year.
  • As a team, Western Carolina has 43 home runs on the season and needs two home runs to move up from fifth to third place in the WCU record books.
  • Brooklynn Brewington now has 30 stolen bases on the season. The Catamount single-season record-holder now moves into first in the conference for most stolen bases on the year. Her 30 stolen bases rank her 14th in the NCAA.
  • As a team, Western Carolina has stolen 67 bases this season which is a new single-season record.
  • Junior pitcher Savannah Rice has fanned 141 batters this season which is good for ninth in the WCU record books. Her 10 wins on the season is one shy of tying her seasonal career high of 11 set in 2021.
