Catamounts Host UT Martin Saturday

Closes out two-match home stand

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's soccer concludes its two-match home stand hosting UT Martin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE CATAMOUNTS:

Western Carolina fell to No. 18 Clemson Thursday in front of a record-breaking crowd of 1,212.
Goalkeeper Melody Mezzina's seven saves in the contest against the Tigers were a season-high. She was one save away from tying her career-high of eight set against Liberty in 2021.
Western Carolina's 12 saves in the match against Clemson are tied for fifth in the WCU record books.
The Catamounts and UT Martin go up against each other for the sixth time in the two program's history. Western Carolina holds a 4-1 advantage over the Skyhawks winning the 2021 match, at Martin, Tenn. 1-0. WCU has won two of the last three meetings and is 3-0 at home against UT Martin.
Western Carolina and UT Martin are looking for their first victory of the season.

AN INSIDE LOOK AT UT MARTIN:

UT Martin fell on the road at Appalachian State 2-1 Thursday.
The Skyhawks opened the 2022 season with a 4-1 home loss to Kentucky.
Megan Drake and Catey Hunt have each scored a goal this season for the Skyhawks.
UT Martin was picked to finish second in the Ohio Valley Conference preseason coaches' poll. Senior defender Maria Castaldo was named to the OVC preseason all-conference list.
