Catamounts Face Road Test at Western Kentucky

CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women's tennis travels to Bowling Green, Ky. to take on Western Kentucky at noon Sunday, Jan. 29. It is the Catamounts' first road match of the season.
 
NEWS & NOTES
  • Western Carolina opened the 2023 season with a 7-0 sweep of Lenoir-Rhyne Jan. 21 at home.
  • The Catamounts and Western Kentucky meet for the first time in the two program's history.
  • The meeting with the Hilltoppers is the eighth team from the state of Kentucky Western Carolina will face in program history. The Catamounts have played Louisville, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Lindsey Wilson College (Ky.) and Georgetown (Ky.) over the course of the program's history.
  • Freshmen twins Chloe and Madison Schwarz, Adelaide, Australia, played No. 1 doubles against Lenoir-Rhyne winning 6-3.
  • Western Kentucky is coming off a 6-1 loss to Austin Peay on Jan. 26.
  • The Hilltoppers have played five matches this season with a record of 3-2.
